ShopGreeter

Every shopper deserves a store that works.

ShopGreeter finds and fixes the accessibility problems on your Shopify store — in your theme code, for real — and keeps them fixed with weekly monitoring. No overlay widgets. No mystery scripts. Just a store every customer can use.

How it works

Three steps. The first one is free, and you can stop after it.

  • Step 1

    Scan

We scan your store with industry-standard WCAG tooling and pair it with human review. You get a plain-English report: what's broken, where, and what it's costing you in lost sales.

  • Step 2

    Fix

Real remediation, in your theme's code: alt text, color contrast, focus states, form labels, heading structure. Every change is reviewed and nothing goes live without your approval.

  • Step 3

    Monitor

Weekly re-scans with regression alerts, so a theme update or a new app can't quietly break your store again. Accessibility stops being a project and becomes a habit.

Why it matters

The customers you can't see are the ones you're losing quietly.

  • Lost revenue

Shoppers who can't navigate your store don't email you about it — they leave and buy somewhere else. Roughly one in four adults in the US lives with a disability (CDC). That's a quarter of your market.

  • Legal exposure

Several thousand web accessibility lawsuits are filed in the US every year, and e-commerce stores are the most common target. Fixing issues proactively is dramatically cheaper than responding to a demand letter.

  • Bigger buyers

Enterprise retailers and marketplaces increasingly require WCAG conformance from their merchants. An accessible store keeps those doors open.

What we'll honestly tell you (and what nobody else will)

Automated tooling detects roughly a third to a half of WCAG issues. Anyone promising 100% compliance from a script is selling an overlay — a widget that papers over problems and has been cited in lawsuits itself.

We combine automated scanning with human and AI-agent review, we fix the code for real, and we document what remains. You'll always know exactly where your store stands.

Questions store owners actually ask

Is the free scan really free?

Yes. It's how we show our work. You get the full report whether or not you ever hire us, and we won't hound you afterwards.

What's an "overlay" and why won't you use one?

Overlays (accessiBe, UserWay and similar) are JavaScript widgets that claim to make sites accessible on the fly. They're widely rejected by screen-reader users and disability advocates, and their use has been cited in lawsuits. We fix the underlying code instead — slower to say, actually true.

Will a scan make me legally compliant?

No scan or vendor can "certify" your store as compliant — anyone who promises that is overpromising. We fix issues against WCAG 2.x level AA, document everything we do, and tell you plainly what remains. This is technical work, not legal advice.

Do you need access to my store?

Only for remediation, and only theme-level access: we work on a duplicate of your theme, you review the changes, and nothing goes live without your approval. We never touch customer data.

About

ShopGreeter is built and run by Damien Grassart, working with store owners mostly in North America. The venture runs on a simple principle: accessibility work should be judged by what actually changes for real shoppers using screen readers, keyboards, and magnification — not by badges or promises.
